Costa Rica impressed the Bleacher Report during the CONCACAF games that secured the Ticos’ their fourth World Cup finals opportunity. To their advantage, the Costa Rican team has been working with coach Jorge Luis Pinto since 2011 and, in the face of an intimidating Group D that consists of national teams with a total of seven global titles between them, Pinto has chosen conservatively; although, he explained to the media that required changes will be made, if and when the time comes. According to Bleacher Report columnist Karla Villegas, Pinto is working with “one of the most promising Cost Rican generations,” so it makes sense that he is sticking with proven talent, and a berth in the round of 16, as last occurred in 1990, may be worth looking out for.
